Denise Dunleavy tried the first breast implant case alleging and proving that breast cancer resulted from the polyurethane foam of a particular implant. In that case, she won a $4.5 million dollar verdict for her client and was instrumental in getting the product discontinued.

Dunleavy served as lead trial counsel in the first successful federal lawsuit against the gun industry.  In the case, a Brooklyn jury found 15 of 25 handgun manufacturers negligent in their marketing and distribution of guns and focused national attention on the lax gun control laws in many states.
